Christian musicians Jim and Mary Kay Altizer will be the guest worship leaders on Sunday, May 16th at Cypress Church. The couple, known in Christian music circles as *Ivory and Brass,* has also been the featured artists at churches, conferences and retreats throughout California, Oregon and Arizona.
Mary Kay Altizer is a pianist who hails originally from the Midwest. It was there that she studied to be a concert pianist while also playing viola in the Chicago Youth Symphony. She accepted Christ as a child, and has served Him ever since with both her performance and composition skills. She earned a conservatory degree in Piano Performance where she won the title of *Best Conservatory Musician.*
Jim Altizer is from Los Angeles, where he began performing on a semi-professional basis at the age of thirteen. Accepting Christ in 1972 completely changed Jim's life as he continued pursuing a career in music. Personal discipleship and accountability were an integral part of his early years, and continues to be his *heartbeat* today. Jim is unique in that he plays both the trumpet and the flute at an extremely high level. He has a Doctorate in worship studies, teaches worship leadership at Azusa Pacific University, and has served as a Minister of Worship for 22 years. Jim maintains a worship leadership website called: http://roadmapsforworship.com/.
*Ivory and Brass* have produced seven albums including their latest release entitled *Anamnesis.* Their music is available online at: http://ivoryandbrass.com/. They will be featured at both the 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday, May 16th at Cypress Church.
