Cypress Church is participating in National Back to Church Sunday, a movement of churches throughout the country to encourage community members to discover or re-discover church. According to LifeWay Research, 38 percent of individuals in the United States are receptive or highly receptive to attending church and 82 percent say that they would be open to attending church if a friend invited them. Cypress Church is joining with thousands of other churches to help change those statistics by inviting everyone to Sunday worship services on September 12th at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.
In addition to Sunday Bible studies Cypress Church has many activities of interest to residents of the northern Orange County area. There is a grief support and recovery group called *GriefShare* that meets on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. The Men’s Bible Study Fellowship meets every Monday at 6:55 p.m. This fall the men will be studying the Bible book of Isaiah. There are two weekly Bible studies for women on Thursday mornings. *Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman* meets at 9:00 a.m. and there is a special Bible study and fellowship group for mothers of young children that meets at 9:15 a.m.
Junior High and High School students from Cypress High, Lexington, Oxford and other area schools get together on Tuesday evenings for exciting activities. The Junior High group meets at 6:00 p.m. and High School meets at 7:00 p.m. College students have their group meetings on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. There are many opportunities for students and adults to serve those in other countries such as Ecuador, India, Mexico and Kenya. Children from 3 years old through 6th grade are welcome at the weekly Awana and Amazing Journeys Club meetings every Wednesday starting at 6:45 p.m.
On Friday October 1st at 7:00 p.m. there will be a special patriotic program of interest to all. Prayer Team Leader Jane Whitney will show her slides of the nation’s capitol and share a message entitled *Discovering God in America.*
