Living God’s Unique Call at Cypress Church
*The two most important requirements for major success are: first, being in the right place at the right time, and second, doing something about it,* stated Ray Kroc, American pioneer of the fast-food industry and founder of the McDonalds restaurants chain. Many people attribute being at the right place at the right time as *luck.* But have you ever wondered if it was more than that? Like thinking about an old friend and then just happening to run into him the next day at Disneyland? It’s almost as though someone had to arrange it…almost as though it was meant to be.
Through the months of October and November, Cypress Church will be investigating the idea of living our lives as if we were always in the right place at the right time. *Living God’s Unique Call* (every Sunday through November 14) is a series that will help those interested in discovering what their calling is, and how to respond.
*God has made everything for a purpose and His purposes are always right,* says Senior Pastor Mike McKay, who will be presenting a majority of the series. *When our life journey is lived His way, we are in the right place at the right time.*
*But stress, busyness and the general sense of being overwhelmed can often pull people away from experiencing what could be a purposeful life,* says Justin McElderry, Pastor of Adult Ministries at the church. *Many of us have become so busy doing ‘all kinds of stuff’ that we have lost the ability to effectively achieve what God has specifically intended for us to do. We miss so many opportunities.*
*Identifying how God has created and equipped individuals for a specific part of His plan is what the series is all about,* Pastor McElderry explains. In addition to understanding God’s plan for each individual’s life, the series will also invest time into understanding the surrounding community and how each person is gifted with abilities that contribute to the people and needs around us.
*This plan for each of us has been laid out before we were even born,* adds McElderry. *Similarly, each church, or body of believers, has a specific part to play in God’s plan to impact people for him in the surrounding areas and around the world.*
