All Pro Dad Breakfast Planned for April 4, 2009 at Cypress Church

On Saturday, April 4, 2009 Cypress Church will sponsor an All Pro Dad Breakfast at 7:30 AM. The breakfast is open to all men in the community. A father's time is his most precious commodity.

Kids want their dads to buy them "stuff" but being with their father is what matters most to them. The spiritual component of a man's relationship with his children is probably the most important facet and often the most frequently overlooked today.

Dads have the opportunity to be the spiritual leader in their home. Men in north Orange County can discover more about being a better father by attending an All Pro Dad breakfast at Cypress Church.

These breakfasts are held on the first Saturday of each month from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. The Cypress Church campus is located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View.

Cypress Church serves the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, Anaheim, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, La Palma and surrounding areas. Sunday Worship is at 8:45 am and 10:30 am. More information about the All Pro Dad program is available from Todd Zuleger at (714) 448-1765 or the church office at (714) 952-3001. Cypress Church Prepares to Celebrate Easter Sunday April 5-12, 2009

Easter is just around the corner and Cypress Church is planning an entire week of celebration beginning on Sunday April 5th and continuing through Easter Sunday on April 12th. This is an important time for Christians to remember many of the most significant historical events of their faith.

On Palm Sunday, April 5th, Cypress Church will celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This occasion, which occurred on April 6, 32 AD, was Christ's public announcement to the world of his unique position in all of history as the Messiah and King. On that day, in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, Jesus rode into the city on a donkey while the people were crying out, "Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord". Palm Sunday worship services will be at 8:45 AM and 10:30 AM.

On Tuesday April 7th, the Student Ministries, directed by Danny Kugelberg, will present a modern retelling of The Easter Story showing how the lives of Christ's disciples and the world were altered for all time through the physical death and resurrection of Jesus. The program will begin at 7:00 PM on April 7th and will feature modern worship and dramatic teaching.

On Thursday April 9th, beginning at 7:00 PM Cypress Church will celebrate Maundy Thursday with an evening communion service. Take a journey to the ‘Upper Room’ on the night before Christ’s death through music, drama & communion led by Worship Leader Steven Brooks. Maundy Thursday on the Christian calendar is a celebration of the new command that Jesus gave to His apostles at the Last Supper. The Worship Center will be transformed into a Last Supper scene including the congregation themselves sitting around tables.

At the Good Friday service, continue your journey from the ‘Upper Room’ to the Cross through music, video & testimony on April 10th at 7:00PM. This powerful worship experience will be the time to focus on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross at Calvary. This evening will tug at your heart as you remember what God did for you. There will be live music, video presentations and testimonies.

Easter Sunday, April 12th will feature three services at 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. This will be a joyful time to celebrate the Risen Savior who offers everyone an opportunity to enjoy eternity in Heaven with Him. There will be uplifting songs led by the choir and accompanied by the orchestra and praise band. Pastor Mike McKay will share the true meaning of the resurrection and explain how it is possible to have a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

The final highlight of Easter week will be a children's Easter Egg Hunt at 12:30 PM on Sunday, April 12. This event will be held at Larwin Park located on the south side of Ball Road directly across from the church. The "Cypress Kids" ministry staff has planned an exciting family time. The community is invited and children are asked to bring at least one parent along with them.

The Cypress Church campus is located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View. All are welcome. Cypress Church serves the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, Anaheim, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, La Palma and surrounding areas. Sunday Worship is at 8:45 am and 10:30 am.

The Five Love Languages presented at Cypress Church on March 28, 2009

On Saturday, March 28th at 9:00 am-12:00pm, Cypress Church will present The Five Love Languages, a video series based on the widely popular book, which focuses on learning how to express heartfelt commitment to your mate. The cost is $10 per couple. If either spouse is out of work attendance is free.

The Five Love Languages, is based on the concept that individuals communicate and receive love differently because there are different primary “love languages” including: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service or Physical Touch. You can improve communication by discovering your primary love language and how your spouse wants to be loved by you.

Childcare will be provided for children, newborn through 6-years old only if participants pre-register. This allows Cypress Church to have adequate staff on site for the safety of your children. The suggested donation for childcare is $2 per child for all three hours, or $5.00 for three or more children. If this is a financial burden to any family, please let the Church know and the cost can be waived.

This presentation is part of an ongoing marriage series presented by Ron Jackson, the counselor on staff at Cypress Church. Marriage Enrichment Mornings will be held monthly through June to encourage families in areas such as communication. Both married and single individuals can gain insight and practical tips that will benefit their current and future relationships.
