Are We Living In The Last Days?

During the past decade the world has experienced many catastrophic events. These have included the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in 2001, the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004 and the recent earthquake in Haiti. Many people today are confused about the meaning of these occurrences and their relationship to Bible prophecy.

Cypress Church will be offering answers to these and other life questions during the Precept Bible Study on the Book of 1 Thessalonians that begins on Thursday, February 4th. This Bible study series was created by Kay Arthur and is being taught locally by Susan VanderWal. The meetings will be every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. from February 4th through April 29th in the Gym at Cypress Church.

During the study, participants will learn the principles of exemplary Christian living. There will be lessons on the Rapture of the Church and Bible prophecy. In addition there will be opportunities to learn about spiritual warfare. The community is invited to participate in these exciting and educational classes.

Cypress Church sponsors Bible studies, activities and events for all ages. The church serves the northern Orange County area including Buena Park, Anaheim, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Cypress and La Palma. The campus is located at 6143 Ball Road, just east of Valley View. Sunday Worship is at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Information about the Precept studies is available from Susan VanderWal by email at: susankvan@sbcglobal.net. Other information is available online at www.cypresschurch.net or by phone from the church office at (714) 952-3001.

Making Cents Classes Start January 10th at Cypress Church

Budgeting is simple - it's just not easy. Cypress Church is offering their second series of *Making Cents* money management workshops beginning on January 10, 2010. This series of classes is being presented in partnership with Glass House Ministry. The workshops are comprehensive and culturally relevant personal money management classes. The format provides both the tools and biblical concepts to encourage a lifestyle change that will impact generations.

Classes will be held on Sunday mornings from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Ward Nickless, Executive Director of Glass House Ministry, designed the workshop to help people budget their money and start to reduce their debt.

When asked about the workshop Nickless stated: *We really want people to make the commitment to get their financial house in order; so this workshop is not for people who are just thinking about making a change. This is a workshop for people who are truly committed to living on a budget! To attend, you will need to commit to recording all your expenses, making changes in your financial habits, and be willing to share your financials with an accountability partner.*

This class is a blend of education, application and Biblical perspective that encourages a deeper look at more than just dollars and cents. The goal is to help families develop personal money management skills. The cost for the *Making Cents* workshops is $40 per household for four sessions. Advance registration is strongly urged. More information is available from Brent Theodore at (562) 212-4499 or email: info@cypresschurch.net
